School's out BBQ at Da Latchingdon Club

A FUN-PACKED evening of grill and games is due to take place at a youth club.

Da Latchingdon Club is holding a school's out barbecue tonight (Tuesday August 5) to raise additional funds in order to buy new equipment and maintain its existing resources.

The club, which has been running for just under 18 months at Latchingdon's playing field, re-opened its doors in July after a revamp.

Sarah Sayer is the club's treasurer and secretary.

She said the fire brigade and police are going along to give demonstrations as well as a graffiti artist who is due to add some new artwork to the village youth shelter which was etablished in memory of Adam Gosling.

The 15-year-old from the village died in 2007 after a wall collapsed on him at a building site while he was on work experience.

A raffle, games and a bouncy castle will be among the other attractions.

Da Latchingdon Club is open on Tuesdays for children aged between eight and 12 from 5.30pm until 7.30pm, and for ages 13 to 19 from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.

Yearly membership is £5 and weekly subs are 80p.

For photos of the event see next week's Standard.
