Writtle qualify in fours
Writtle won their qualifying match in the Men's County Fours Competition on Thursday, 3 July against Maldon Bowling Club by 21 shots to 15.
Some tight scheduling meant that the Writtle men faced Ilford Bowling Club in the quarter finals on the following day.
The match, played at Brentwood, was tight but Mick Wakeling, Terry Arthur, Mike Fell and Ian Smith won through winning by 17 shots to 13.
They now face Grays Town Bowling Club in the semi finals to be played on Saturday, 12 July at the Essex County Bowling Club.
