Setanta Shield pairs City with AFC Wimbledon
Jeff King's Clarets will face familiar opposition in the Setanta Shield Southern section in early September as AFC Wimbledon were pulled out of the hat to face City at Melbourne for both sides' debuts in the Blue Square Conference's League Cup.
The Dons will be welcomed to the county town on Monday September 8, kick-off 7.30pm, in the latest instalment of what has become a passionate but friendly rivalry between the two clubs in their joint rise from the Ryman Premier.
The earlier than usual kick-off time falls in line with the club's policy to provide for the potential of extra time and penalties should they be necessary.
