Bowls: Chelmsford B in last 16
In a four-shot victory over Writtle B, the Chelmsford B team advanced to the last 16 in the Essex County Men's BA Double Fours' competition.
At Tower Gardens the rink skipped by Phil Kyffin secured a two-shot win over the rink skipped by Mike Fell.
This was a close game throughout, with Kyffin's team winning 17-15. Away at Romans Place, Writtle another tight game took place with many shots being scored by both teams. Robert Walker's rink managed to overcome Writtle's Derek Cook 26 - 24 to record another two shot win to take the overall score to 43 - 39 in Chelmsford's favour.
Round four has Chelmsford playing local rivals Falcon A' in a match to be arranged by July 20.
