Ridley League seeks more Southies
THE right pair of clubs could be a winning hand for the popular Ridley Darts & Dominoes League next season.
Little Waltham SC were elected at last week's AGM to fill the vacancy caused by the withdrawal of Chelmsford City FC A'.
But, with North Section (Braintree/Dunmow) clubs in the majority, the league are looking eagerly for new Chelmsford-area outfits to swell their ranks. Southern clubs have traditionally done well - the New Barn and the Ship were dominant for around 30 years, and more recently, the Bird in Hand, Chelmsford SC and the Eagle have made their mark.
But good clubs grow frustrated by the lack of consistent all-round competition in the South section. New blood is wanted and any team interested should call league secretary John Morris 01245 259480 or fixtures secretary John Steele 01277 366566.
