Clarets prepare for home friendly against Wycombe
Some difficult decisions are ahead for the City management team as they enter the final fortnight before the kick-off off the competitive season, with the visit of Peter Taylor's Coca-Cola League Two challengers Wycombe Wanderers tomorrow.
Having run their eyes over 25 to 30 players during the friendly matches to date, Jeff King and Glenn Pennyfather know it will soon be time to say goodbye to a handful of individuals as they bid to shape their final squad for an assault on the Blue Square South in 2008/09.
Former Claret Taylor, meanwhile, is new to the fold at Wycombe, having been recently installed as their first team manager with the task of improving on their seventh-place finish in the last campaign that saw them narrowly miss-out to Stockport County in the play-offs.
Adults can gain terrace access to the match - which kicks off at 3pm - for the reduced cost of £7, with concessions gaining admission for £2.
All home 2008/09 friendlies benefit from Kids for a Quid' status, meaning under-16s accompanied by adults get in for just one pound.
City's pre-season line-up currently appears as follows:
- Saturday 26th July, WYCOMBE WANDERERS, Home, 3pm
- Monday 28th July, SOUTHEND UNITED, Home, 7.45pm
- Saturday 2nd August, HISTON, Home, 3pm
- Monday 4th August, Concord Rangers, Away, 7.45pm
- Saturday 9th August, Blue Square South Season Begins
10:04am Friday 25th July 2008
