Busy week for Writtle BC men's C team
Writtle men's C team had a busy week, playing a Chelmsford and District League match on Monday July 21 and a Marconi Cup game on Wednesday July 23.
Writtle's league game was played against RHP C. Skip Ron McGregor with Geoff King, Grahame Jupp and Alf Sargeant won their game 24 shots to 19 but skips John Marsh and Roy Byrne lost on their rinks by 17 shots to 21 and 16 shots to 24 respectively. Writtle scored 2 league points to RHP's 8.
The two teams met again in the Marconi Cup knock-out completion and once again RHP C came out on top, winning the three rinks by 22 shots to 17, 21 shots to 12 and 20 shots to 17.
Writtle scored a total of 46 points to RHP's 63 and so RHP progress to the next round.
