Hot Maldon GC contest can't hold back high scores
ON the very hot Sunday morning of July 27, 64 of Maldon Golf Club's men competed in a Better Ball Medal for the Secretary Cup.
Despite the heat, the scoring was very good, with the first three places all carding net 64s. These places were all decided on countback, therefore.
In first were Dave Newton with Mark Beckwith, followed by Malcolm Burnett with Dave Allen in second. Then came Darren Mason with Chris Clark in third.
Fourth place was also decided on countback - a net 65 carded by Dave Porter with Ray Martin.
