No top weights in MAS club match
LITTLE Park, Langford, failed to produce any top weights for last Sunday's Maldon Angling Society club match.
The gusty wind made fishing very uncomfortable and credit must go to the anglers for staying the match. Tony Druce found the right tactics, to land a 4lb-plus tench plus some small perch.
Results: 1 T Druce 4.9.0, 2 S Bridges 2.9.0, 3 D Foster 2.8.0
THE concessionary match on Tuesday was fished at Heybridge basin, on the canal. A good turnout of matchmen saw 14 undeterred by the half-mile walk to their pegs.
Reasonable weights were recorded at the final whistle and some weighty perch were netted. Derek Frost had a good mixed bag of eels, perch and some good skimmer bream, topping the scales with more than 8lb.
Results: 1 D Frost 8.8.0, 2 June Woodhams 7.5.0, 3 John Woodhams 7.0.0, 4 D Foster 6.7.0
