Ramblers score credible draw against Redbridge
Pre-season friendly
Burnham Ramblers 0 Redbridge 0
Ramblers continued their pre-season buildup with a very creditable draw against a full-strength Ryman League side.
Most pleasing of all was Burnham's ability to keep a clean sheet against a side with a couple of pacey and skilful frontmen. In truth though, they never really looked that likely to concede.
Ramblers still have a large squad which will have to be whittled down to some extent before the season starts in a fortnight's time.
Nevertheless, they do look to
be potentially a very strong
outfit who ought to be up there
challenging in the Essex senior league.
All last season's first team squad have re-signed, with the exception of the two Suffolk-based players, Cornish and Norfolk.
Aside from Nicky Muir, who has not yet been seen, everyone else is back - including the hugely influential Bradley Woodards, whose absence last year through injury was a big blow.
There are also a number of new players, notably Jordin Tolan, Dean Allen,George Allder and Scott Pethers, all from Bowers.
Danny Smith has joined from Hornchurchand looked useful in midfield on Saturday. Additionally a young centre half called Mark Gorbells has also given a couple of impressive displays.
