Lauren plans to get on her bike!
IT'S time to get on my bike!
After a break out of the saddle I am joining Graeme Biggins from the Blackwater Triathlon Club for weekly bike sessions.
Over the last couple of weeks the focus has been on running and swimming so I feel I need to balance things out again now.
What a week to pick being out in the great outdoors though, I'll need a waterproof coat and wellies if the weather goes the way it has been forecast!
It's all part of the fun though and in some ways it will be good to practice cycling in wet conditions in case it is raining on race day - I need to be prepared for every eventuality!
Swimming went well last week, slowly but surely I am getting better at controlling my breathing and not panicking when I don't get it quite right.
I bumped into an old friend, Jackie Reavill, at the pool who has competed in triathlons for as long as I've known her.
Although she has had to give up the sport now due to injury, she is still fighting fit and full of good advice.
It was just good to hear that I should be able to complete the event without dying! She knew me throughout my time at Colchester Harriers and seems to have more faith in me than I do!
I'm hoping I'll be able to keep fishing for reassurance from her as she's at the pool every Monday too!
Next week will mark the four week countdown to race day, not long to go now!
