Good scoring sees Milford come out on top

The Centenary Trophy for Maldon Golf Club's male full members was played over Saturday and Sunday, August 2 and 3.

Sixty-three men took part over the two-day competition, with all of the top five places being taken by those that played on the Sunday morning.

This was a medal competition and the scoring was very good. The winner this week was Garth Milford, who carded a net 64.

The second and third-placed golfers both scored net 65s so countback was used to decide the places. In second was Peter Hawkins, with Jim Culleton in third.

Fourth place, just behind with a score of net 66, was Terry Marchi and in fifth, with a net 67 on countback, was Rob Buckingham.
